The long held alias of Ryan Cheng, The Weatherman’s skills as a music selector are both dynamic and precise. Whether at music festivals, nightclubs, rooftop bars, or marketplaces, he reads and responds to the crowd with expertise and heartfelt performances.
With a diverse and constantly evolving sound, his sets can range from deep house infused with jazz and soul to psychedelic electronica, experimental Balearic, and soothing ambient journeys. This unpredictability has garnered him recognition as one of Southeast Asia's most captivating emerging DJs, making him a talent to watch.
The Weatherman has supported international acts like KiNK, Anastasia Kristensen, Tornado Wallace, and more. His journey began at venues like Headquarters and Tuff Club and expanded to notable spots such as Offtrack, Camp Kilo Charcoal Club, Potato Head Singapore, Rumours Beach Club, and W Singapore with The DJ Dispensary.
An active member of Singapore’s electronic music scene, The Weatherman has collaborated with local collectives including Revision Music, Sivilian Affairs, Wild Pearl, Manifest, Ice Cream Sundays, Blackout, and Mugic Soundsystem. He has participated in music campaigns like Singapore Community Radio, The Last Mile, United We Stream Asia, #SaveMusicSG, and Sunda Festival.
Internationally, The Weatherman has performed at venues like Debris Daikanyama in Japan, Hanoi Community Radio and Savage in Vietnam, and Peels Records & Bar and Headstream by Potato Head in Indonesia.
A deep believer in the healing power of music, Ryan launched Personal Space, an auditory-meditative experience. These sessions, soundtracked by The Weatherman and guided by wellness instructors, help participants achieve inner peace and balance.
